This is why there’s no mobile phone signal in Cranleigh today

O2 and Vodafone customers in Cranleigh were left scratching their heads today, wondering why there is no mobile phone signal.

Both networks are carrying out maintenance on their Bookhurst Road mast which serves the village.

According to the O2 service status page:

Sorry, we’re carrying out some upgrade work in this area.

We’re carrying out some upgrade work to help improve our network. While we do this, you might have some trouble with your calls, texts and data.

We’re working as fast as we can.

Everything should be back to normal by 8pm on Saturday 23rd February 2019.

Vodafone are less optimistic about the length of these maintenance works, not expecting service to resume until next Tuesday morning.

We’re carrying out maintenance in this area at the moment to help improve our mobile network. We’re sorry if you’re experiencing any issues with your service at this time, we know how frustrating this can be. Maintenance is due to be finished by 06:00 26 Feb 2019 and we’ll update this page as soon as it has been done.

Users of other mobile phone networks are also experiencing a lack of service in the village today, with one member of the Cranleigh Community Board on Facebook reporting problems with EE.

However, the EE service status page is showing no known problems in the postcode area.
