Cranleigh 10k

More than one hundred runners took part in the annual Cranleigh 10k this morning, in glorious September sunshine.

The running event, organised by Rotary Club of Cranleigh and Cranleigh Runners, is a fixture on the local race calendar.

The Cranleigh 10k is a volunteer-led charity run, raising money for local good causes.

126 runners completed the 10k route which heads along Knowle Lane before joining the Downs Link at Baynards and returning to the finish at Snoxhall Fields.

First across the finish line this morning was Terry Booth from Guildford & Godalming AC, in an impressive 35 minutes and 33 seconds.

Second place was awarded to Ben Osborn (The Stragglers) in 35:43, and third was Ben Evans (Guildford & Godalming AC) in 36:10.

First lady to finish was Cecilia Siruffo (Guildford & Godalming AC) in 40:40, followed by Karen Bryant (Guildford & Godalming AC) in 44:11 and then Ed Warner (Fittleworth Flyers) in 45:50.

The full set of results can be found here and the official race photos here.

Coming up next in the local running race calendar is the 8th Jigsaw Run 10k at Dunsfold Park on Sunday 24th November 2019.

Local runners also have an opportunity to enjoy a festive 5k or 10k run on Sunday 8th December at the Cranleigh Santa Dash 2019.

Plans are also in motion to introduce a new Cranleigh Festival of Running, taking place in Knowle Park from 8th to 10th May 2020.
