Cranleigh schoolboy Oliver Faithfull has successfully completed a one-mile swim to raise money for charity.

10-year old Ollie completed his swim at Cranleigh Golf & Country Club in 48 minutes 38 seconds.

He made the 89 lengths look effortless, only admitting afterwards that he was suffering from a stitch after 30 lengths.

Oliver swam to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK, in memory of his cousin Greg who died age 5 in 2004.

Two families in the UK receive a neuroblastoma diagnosis for their child each week on average. The charity aims to find a cure for neuroblastoma, by funding research projects, delivering new, effective and kinder treatments for these children.

Neuroblastoma is a type of cancer that forms in certain types of nerve tissue. It most frequently starts from one of the adrenal glands, but can also develop in the neck, chest, abdomen, or spine.

Symptoms may include bone pain, a lump in the abdomen, neck, or chest, or a painless bluish lump under the skin.

Oliver has been swimming since he was three months old.

His swim coach at Swim Safe School suggested he might want to try swimming a mile to raise money for charity, during International Learn to Swim Week.

Ollie decided to raise money for Neuroblastoma UK in memory of his cousin, and to make his Auntie Donna proud.
