Park Mead Race for Life Schools raises £1,800 for Cancer Research

Park Mead Primary School held their 3rd biannual Race For Life Schools event last Friday.

The entire school got involved, with each year group running or walking a mile around the school fields.

Lucy Bushnell, parent and race organiser, said:

Race For Life is such a great way to get the children to do something active and raise money and awareness for cancer. The children love the walk/run and are so proud that they can all do a bit to help so many. We as parents and teachers are all very proud too.

Children, parents and supporters have raised more than £1,800 to date, with donations still rolling in.

Race for Life Schools raises money for Cancer Research UK, the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.

They are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. Cancer Research UK are entirely funded by the public.

Lucy thanked the staff and parents who helped make the event a success, with a special thank you to the head teacher Neil McAuliffe.
