One Cranleigh secures two homes for Ukrainian refugees

One Cranleigh secures two homes for Ukrainian refugeesOne Cranleigh has secured two properties to house two Ukrainian families.

The One Cranleigh initiative was launched following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, to gain the financial support needed to home Ukrainian refugees in the village.

The concept was developed out of the desire to try and help the people of Ukraine in some practical way, by offering homes within our community.

As well as fundraising securing suitable properties for each family, including those with special needs, the project is designed to provide funds to provide a home and a life, not just a house.

Combining support from all of the local faith groups, charitable organisations, Cranleigh Parish Council, local businesses and people, One Cranleigh is a single action group to provide homes for as many Ukrainian families as the funds raised will support.

You can find out more and pledge your support at cranleighlions.org/onecranleigh, or visit the One Cranleigh team at the Cranleigh Lions Carnival on Saturday.

Additional support to Ukrainian families living in Cranleigh has been provided through the provision of books for the English lessons provided twice a week in Cranleigh Baptist Church, with more than thirty Ukrainians now taking part.
