Cranleigh Distribution Services Limited, an owned operation of Pall-Ex (UK) Ltd, has welcomed a new General Manager, as the business looks to grow in the coming years.

William “Bill” Silvey, joins the Dunsfold-based company with a wealth of logistics industry experience, having spent 15 years with Kuehne + Nagel.

During his time with the Switzerland-based company, Bill covered numerous sectors, including, Automotive, FMCG, Fashion and Pharmaceuticals.

One of his biggest achievements while working for the logistics giant, was heading the team responsible for setting up a 200,000sq ft warehouse at Heathrow for their Air Freight division.

As well as this, he was tasked with working with a major pharmaceutical company to set up a distribution hub at the new site.

Speaking after his appointment, Bill described what he expects from the role with Cranleigh. He commented:

Cranleigh is a great opportunity for me as it allows me to bring my skills from across all sectors to the company.

I know the team here has a vast array of abilities and knowledge, which will help us to grow the business and further improve our service offering for our customers.”

In what is an exciting time for Pall-Ex as a whole, I am relishing the challenge and look forward to the future here.

Bill’s arrival is not the only change for Cranleigh in recent weeks.

The Pall-Ex member recently moved into larger premises, remaining on Dunsfold Park, in order to further enhance its service offering.

The new 38,000sq ft site means Cranleigh can now offer customers storage and pick and pack solutions in addition to national next day palletised freight distribution via the Pall-Ex network.

The new premises gives Cranleigh the space and scalability to move the business to the next level and will really benefit their current and prospective customers.
