Cranleigh teen completes 500km running challenge to support chronically ill and disabled workers

Cranleigh teen Will Clark completed his 500km running challenge today, as part of the Astriid Challenge which has attracted more than 400 global participants.

19-year-old Will, who lives in Cranleigh and works at Cranleigh Medical Practice, has been running every day throughout July to help the month-long virtual campaign which aims to raise awareness and bring much-needed monies into the charity.

He completed his challenge at lunchtime today, crossing the finish line outside Firebird Brewing Co. where friends, family and supporters were out in force to congratulate him on his achievement.

Will, who has raised nearly £2,000 for the charity, says he is very grateful to everyone for their support.

“Astriid uses the money donated to help those with energy limiting chronic illness (ELCI) step into the workforce and apply their skills,” he explains. “ The charity holds a place close to my heart due to people in my own family who have had to live with, or are currently living with, ELCI.”
