Cranleigh Santa Dash raises £1,700 for local primary schools

Cranleigh Santa Dash 2021

250 runners dressed as Father Christmas, elves, and even a Turkey, completed the Cranleigh Santa Dash on Sunday, raising money for local schools.

The annual charity fun run is a collaboration between Rotary Club of Cranleigh, Cranleigh Sunflowers and Cranleigh Chamber of Commerce. It’s sponsored by Informed Choice Independent Financial Planners.

It was a record year for entries this year, with participants raising £1,734 which will be donated by Rotary Club of Cranleigh to the local primary schools (Park Mead, Cranleigh Infants, St Cuthbert Mayne and Ewhurst Infants).

After the now infamous mass warm-up to Twelve Days of Christmas, runners completed a 5km or 10km run along the Downs Link and round Snoxhall Playing Fields. They returned to the finish line in Stocklund Square to a performance by Cranleigh Community Choir, singing a selection of festive songs.

A date has already been set for this sell-out event in 2020, with runners already booking their tickets for Sunday 13th December.
