Cranleigh FC are through to the County Cup Final

Cranleigh FC are through to the final of the Surrey County Cup after a convincing win away on Saturday.

Cranleigh beat Lyne 4-1 at Ascot FC to secure their place in the final of the Surrey FA Saturday Intermediate Cup.

Backed by a boisterous large travelling support, Cranleigh FC tore apart league above Lyne to book their place in the final of the county cup.

The Cranes went ahead early doors when both centre backs combined after Charlie Still got on the end of Jack Millers measured pass and finished like he’d been playing up front for years.

Lyne threatened with a couple of half chances but George Mead was excellent in the Cranleigh goal and looked very assured with his handling.

At half time, Cranleigh was up one goal to nothing.

The Cranes came out flying in the second half and an exquisite Joe Barnes strike doubled their advantage.

Jacob Stiles then decided to get in on the act with a double that any striker would be proud of, two finishes of absolute sheer quality.

Lyne pulled one back in the dying embers but this tie was already done.
