News & updates:

-Cromwells is opening on Thursday 4th June for take-away and food & drink. They will be open from 10 am to 2 pm every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. We’re all looking forward to welcoming Mike, Sally and the team back to the village. Cromwells, like so many of our local businesses, have been sorely missed during the lockdown.

-10-year-old Connie Emmett from Cranleigh has swum the length of the English Channel in her paddling pool! In doing so she’s raised over £2000 for the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust. Well done Connie!

-Do you visit the Shamley Green shop? If so, a request from Stuart in the Post Office there; please avoid visiting between 1.30 pm and 2 pm, to give him time for his lunch break!

-We’re losing a local institution. Eagle Radio is rebranding as Greatest Hits Radio from September, under plans by Bauer Group to expand the Hits Radio Brand Network. As part of the move, Eagle 70s and Eagle 80s will close down.

-Groups of up to six people will be able to meet outdoors in England from Monday 1 June, including in gardens and other private outdoor spaces, provided strict social distancing guidelines are followed.

-Primary schools will welcome back children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 on 1 June, and nurseries and other early years settings will be reopened.

-Thousands of high street shops, department stores and shopping centres will also begin to reopen in June as we restart the economy.
